Keeping God at the centre of your life and your relationships isn't something that just happens, you have to work at it, constantly check where you are and what is grabbing all your attention.

It's easy to just float about in life but what's important is purpose. God has a plan and purpose for each of us and He wants us to be in a place where we can receive that from Him. To be in that place, we need to keep close to God, maintain our relationship with Him and keep Him at the centre of our relationships. Jesus always has to come first.

Staying close to God is something that we have to do. Then He can draw close to us.
